This year I, Megan Smith, entered a ribbon day for Horse riding. There were lots of people from the age of 5-15. We were all split up in to 4 rings. I was in the 8- 11 year olds. I got 2 first place ribbons 1 for a game which I did in 24.6 seconds and the other one was for rider pony club mount which was like the trot, walk and others. I also got three 4th place ribbons. The bigger 1 for Most obedient, the smaller ones are for Rider over hurdle and Judges course. The blue ribbon 2nd place was for handy hunter which we trotted over a jump then we stopped and trotted back over, then had to holt again. The orange ribbon 5th place tip'n'out. By the end of the day everyone was hot and tired.

On Monday 6th of September the Senior School had Cross Country. It started at nine o'clock with the year 5 girls. In that race Jamelia came first, Hannah came second, and Amy came third.
The second race was year six boys. First was Fergus, second was Jordan and third was Kurtis.

Lucky last was the year 6 girls. Sophie came first, Jaime came second, and Aimee came third.

The people who came up to 8th they get to go to Inter schools. Also the people who came 9th or 10th are reserves.

It was a fantastic and tiring day but all that training payed off.
A BIG thank you to all the parents and teachers who helped and supported us. Also a BIG thank you to Miss Firth who was our sports coordinator.

Inquiry Learning

Terracotta Warriors!

During week 3 Mrs Munro came and worked with us. We learnt lots of interesting things about the Terracotta Army. Our task was to convince Mrs Munro that it was worth while visiting the Terracotta Army and then plan her a trip from Auckland to Xian, China.

Check out our published work on our blog.
